Beginning in 2023 I will have reduced availability for clients under the Hourly Break/Fix business model. Most of my availability will now be focused on servicing clients with monthly support plans. If you would like details on what a support plan would entail for your business or family, please fill out this form so I can collect the necessary information, and I will cater a plan to your needs.
For clients not interested in a monthly support plan, I will continue to offer limited Break/Fix hours of one business day per week (7am to 5pm PST) for both on-site and off-site appointments, along with two additional mornings per week (7am to 10am), when I will offer off-site / remote support appointments. You can expect the availability for these Break/Fix hours to be highly constrained, so please be prepared for much longer lead times to get an appointment than you are currently accustomed to. If you require a higher level of availability, you need to transition to a support plan or consider seeking out new service provider.
If you obtain any annual or monthly software licensing through me, I will continue to provide application-level support per my normal full availability. This only includes support related to the application itself and does not include any support related to the devices that you use with the application. If you have questions about this or wish to transition your licensing to another provider, please contact me.
If you have project related work that will require in excess of 20 hours for either your business or home, contact me to discuss the project and I may negotiate a lower rate and higher availability terms for the duration of the specific project.
Starting on July 1st, 2023 I will have the following Hourly Break/Fix rates going into effect for clients without a support plan.
Hourly On-site support services
$150/hr. – On-site Appointments at your business or home.
- All on-site appointments are subject to a one hour minimum with additional time billed at 1/4 hour increments.
- Based on your location, I may require a two-hour minimum or higher. (You will be notified in advance if this applies to you).
- Additional Trip and Travel Charges apply for on-site services (see below).
Hourly Off-site support services
$140/hr – Remote/Phone/Email Support, Bench Labor & Website Development
- 1/2 hour minimum then billed on the 1/4 hour
- Flat Fee Website Development Services available. Contact me to discuss your project.
- Please note, that without a support plan all email / remote / phone support is billable. You can expect to be billed for quick things you might not have been billed for in the past, like quick phone calls asking questions, or emails asking for guidance etc.
Emergency Rates
$200/hr. – Any Break/Fix support provided outside the limited Break/Fix hours I’m providing.
- If you do not have a support plan and cannot wait to get an appointment within the next available Break/Fix hours, solely at my discretion, I may agree to provide faster support at these emergency rates.
- Off-site support will have a 1-hour minimum and On-site support will have a 2-hour minimum with additional time billed at 1/4 hour increments.
- Additional Trip and Travel Charges apply for on-site services (see below).
Trip & Travel Charges
There is a $50 Trip Charge for all on-site appointments, that includes the first 20 miles of Travel Charges based on the drive distance from zip code 94947. Locations beyond 20 miles are billed an additional Travel Charge of $1.50 per mile (round-trip), in addition to any toll, bridge, or parking charges.
- Example: If your location is 30 miles from zip code 94947, your travel charge would be 30 miles – 20 miles included = 10 miles x 2 (roundtrip) = 20 miles x $1.50/mile = $30 Travel Charge.
- When being serviced under Emergency Rates, the Travel change beyond 20 miles is $2.00/mile
- Travel distances are calculated using Google Maps. (Use this link and enter your address in the Destination Field to get total distance for the Travel calculation.)
